FAQ

Please read through the frequently asked questions to learn more about the Symposium and what you will need to participate.

1. What happens after I register?

You will receive a 
Welcome to the SPARKS Symposium! email with a link to a form to fill out.

The SPARKS Symposium's Keynote presentations and workshops are on a first come, first fill basis. Please fill out and submit the form you are sent in your 
Welcome to the SPARKS Symposium! email so that you may have the best chance of getting the schedule you desire.

Once you arrive at the SPARKS Symposium, you will receive a folder with your personalized weekend schedule at the registration desk.

2. Do I need to sign up for specific classes?

YES! After you register for the symposium, you will receive a 
Welcome to the SPARKS Symposium! email with a form for you to choose the lectures and workshops you would like to attend.

3. Can I just show up and decide on workshops on the weekend?

Yes, you can. However, workshops are on a first come, first fill basis and we cannot guarantee that the Keynotes and workshops you are interested will be available for registration.

4. How will I know if the Symposium schedule has been changed?

There will be a board at the registration desk that will have announcements of any changes to the schedule along with a daily grid.


5. What should I bring with me to the SPARKS Symposium?
  • Clothing and toiletries if you have accommodations at the Walper.
  • Yoga mat if you are participating in EARLY BIRD YOGA, Sunday morning.
  • Some workshops require you purchase supplies. Check your schedule.
6. Do any of the Workshops require supplies?

YES! A few workshops will require that participants purchase supplies. However, supplies will be available for purchase from on site vendors for a reasonable price.

7. Is parking available?

City Parking is available for Symposium Pass and Single Day Ticket holders across the street from the Walper Terrace Hotel.

8. Is the cost of the hotel room included in the Symposium Price?

YES! Packages are priced including accommodations unless you are purchasing a Symposium Pass or Individual Day Ticket. Please see the 
Registration page for package list and pricing.

9. What happens to the registration form after I fill it out?

All registration forms are received by Kelsey B Presents and are stored on file for analytical data for future conferences up to a period of 2 years. The privacy of your information is assured and will only be viewed by Kelsey B Presents.

10. Will there be Vending available?

YES! Vending will be available in the Symposium lobby on both Saturday from 8am to 5pm and Sunday from 9am to 4:45pm.

11. How do I feed myself during the weekend?

All Symposium ticket holders are provided snacks and lunch for the duration of their ticket. For additional food and dinner, please consider Coffee Culture located on the ground floor or the Rum Runner Pub located on the basement level of the Walper Terrace Hotel. There are many wonderful restaurants located in downtown Kitchener within walking distance of the Symposium. Please ask the Hotel Concierge for the names and menus of surrounding restaurants.


12. Will there be options at Lunch for those with diet restrictions?

The Walper Terrace Hotel and the SPARKS Symposium have chosen a menu that takes a vegetarian diet into consideration but have not taken into consideration certain food allergies or sensitivities. Please let us know on your registration form if you need special food considerations.
